Norseal® PVC Foams – Automotive Tapes
Norseal closed-cell foam tapes function as a gasket, forming a “seal” to prevent air, vapor, moisture and sound infiltration. A proper gasket will interface between two dissimilar surfaces. Unlike traditional sealing methods like caulks, mastics or pre-compressed materials, our foam tapes are easier to handle, compressible to create a superior seal, and will dampen vibration.

Description
Norseal closed-cell foam tapes function as a gasket, forming a “seal” to prevent air, vapor, moisture and sound infiltration. A proper gasket will interface between two dissimilar surfaces. Unlike traditional sealing methods like caulks, mastics or pre-compressed materials, our foam tapes are easier to handle, compressible to create a superior seal, and will dampen vibration.
Norseal is soft and conformable, making it an ideal gasketing material for a range of NVH (Noise, Vibrations and Harshness) applications in the automotive market. OEM’s devote considerable engineering resources to study and analyses the causes and solutions of NVH in today’s cards, vans, SUVs and trucks, particularly on the interior of vehicles. Norseal is cellular elastomer foam available in a range of densities and gauges. It can easily be slit to various width roll configurations, or for more detailed applications, can be die-cut to intricate shapes. It is available with or without a high tack acrylic adhesive on a range of liner types.
In addition to NVH applications, Norseal is commonly used by the automotive engineering community to troubleshoot the unexpected “leaks and squeaks” that arise during vehicle launch. Engineers depend on Norseal foam tapes to address the unexpected problems of wind noise, moisture intrusion, and sound from plastic components rubbing on each other, vibration, light and dust. Norseal foam tapes is an economical solution to a wide range of sealing and gasketing needs for the automotive market. Many of our products are approved by major OEM material specifications.
- Soft-grade foams offer low deflection force – causes no distortion of thin-gauge plastics or metals
- Soft-grade foams are very conformable – adapt easily to irregular surfaces to maintain a seal
- Firm-grade foams provide excellent abrasion resistance
- High-density firm grade offers good vibration dampening and cushioning
- All Norseal foams are closed-cell – excellent light, dust and moisture seal
- Rolls and die-cuts are dimensionally stable – will not ooze, drip or run under compression
- Cowl seal
- Pillar trim spacer
- Mirror gasket
- Door lock seal
- Weather strip spacer
- Light system gasket
- Body cladding spacer
- HVAC die-cut gasket
